19/52 Over fields short film

HELLOOOOO!
Wow! December already! This month is my birthday and crimbo! whoop!
This week i just been working and enjoying my weekend out with friends. went absailing on satday witch ther will be a vid up shortly on my youtube page so watch out for that!
Also hooked up with jay mya agian this week to help shoot his new vid. will keep you posted on the progress of that.

This weeks photo is a lil late beacuse i been busy at work and have been filming certain things that relate to this pic.
This pic realy is to advertise the short film ive just made and to tell you a little about my upcoming vids. Secretly i love editing videos and making movies more than photography, but just get round to it or never had the right tools to do it with.
But now ive researched it a little and leaned to use my camera in video a wee bit more im making some videos.

So this photo reprisents the short film i made today. I bought some new software (final cut x) and wanted to play around with it. so as a tester i made a short film (literally)
Over fields is a short filmed made near were i live, it took me 15mins to film and about 30mins to edit lol!
These fields are were i walk most days and were i take my dog.. This is were Zack used to chase rabbits too lol!
I was just playing around with dof and other settings to see what i could come up with!

Ther will be more Vids to come in the future, i am currently in the process of filming Birth of Outlaws atm.. more to come on that maybe next week. But i will never step away from photography as it is and always will be the best way of capturing moments and my wild imagination!

Helloooooooo! Hope youve all had a good week!
I have had a few holiday days off at work this week to do some bits and bobs. Been looking for new job etc. and then just partying at the weekend lol!

On sunday Morning i headed up to warncliffe with my friends Dave, andy, jack, phill, bernard, and dale. i went to photograph them doing some dowhill bikeing. its becoming quite big atm. very fast and scary for me lol! ill stick to the camera for now.
The view up there is amazing, ill probs head off up there in the summer to get some landscape pics. U can see for miles and miles. Such a beautifull place. Plus the weather held out for us.
So i did a mixture of photos, from documentary style, to sport shots, and even did a lil strobist work. The day was great fun and a great laff. i even managed to fit a lil bit of video in (coming soon)

For shooting things like this u need to use fast shutter speeds and raise ur iso seen as we were in trees and light was cut out a lil bit.
Also large apatures work well here too... i was using f2.8 to f4 for most shots. The only thing wen using strobs is that urll be ristricted to a shutter speed from 200 to 250th as thats the max sync speed of most cameras. (Thats why this pic is a lil blury but i like the motion in it too)

This shot is off jack coming down the hill and doing a jump. I got sat low in a lil ditch for a low angle perspective.
I then placed a strob in front of jack to the left.
Strobs also help freeze action. I went for a widish angle to get the rest of the hill in.
Wen editing this pic i just played around with some tones and came up with this witch i liked. Also increasing the contrast.

HI PPS!
Hows your week been? i been quite busy at work, and now have 8days off to do what i like! i plan to chill and get very drunk lol!
Had a good week doing some tricks, even though some are arseholes n try spoil it!

Been wanting to get out and take some location snaps for a while now, but just not had the time. So today i had a lil walk into my local woods behind my house, and set up this wee lil shot!
I Think this photo can giv mixed feelings witch i love about it!
I just wanted a moody ery photo!
the woods and leaves realy helped me create the look i wanted!

Wanted this weeks photo to give off a little emotion of being alone and no body listning!
Shure u all have these strange times...
I just genrally speek mumble jumble to myself, i like to just sometimes shut my self away from the world and chill for a lil bit!

The set up was low angle and steped back and zoomed to compress the background. My light source was set camera right just a lil bit higher pointing downish.

"Were not just a clan...were a unit!"

Hellooo There! everyone had a good week? Mine has been a very busy one lol. But also fun haha!
Been out showing off my new tricks, and had a great bombfire at my sisters lol, Also went paintballing satday with some friends witch brings me to this weeks photo!

If your wondering what YEM8 is its are call of duty clan. Witch stands for if not worked out "yea mate"
So seen as the boys from this clan went paintballing and with the relise of CODMW3 next week it would be rude not to base this pic on somthing related!
Also with it being bombfire night i wanted to add a little bit of that celerbration in there.
My friend dave who is in this pic asked me to fetch my camera down and wondered if i could capture a pic writing with sparklers.

So to achive this i set it at a long exposure of around 3secs and took multipull shots. After i merged them in photoshop, yes it not perfect but the illustion works well.
Long exposures are so much fun and u can have lots a creative stuff going on in them.. Just need a steady tripod or somwere to keep the camera steady.

13/52 Mystery man!

13/52Mystery Man! "Who am i to you? Am i a illusion or a mystery?" Lil late this week! been so busy at work and editing prev pics form a shoot with jay mya. But had a great weekend with some friends. We all went to doncaster racers for my friends bday, n what can i say part from 16hours drinking killed me lol! So the idea for this pic i had came from the crazy weekend i had! As some may know i am quite the illusionest, always pulling off tricks and hustling ppl! :D In town so many ppl were amazed by what i was doing, i had a massive audience and hustled quiet a lot of drinks lol :P Some one even shouted from the crowed "this lad ant human" Reactions are everthing to me! the look i get most is who the hell are you lol! total mystery? So being quite the mystery man and ppl stumped by my tricks i got the idea of this pic to reflect my magic style. I always throw a lil comody in my tricks, and am i lil cheeky chappy. lol So my v for vendetta mask fitted quite well with its funny smile. also covering my face to add the mystery man behind! The specs wer just a extra comody add lol God ive blabbled about how i came up with this idea lol! sowi! :P I am wanting to film a short film soon showing some o my tricks to random ppl lol! 12/52 Swing Adventure

HOLLLAAA! Hope you all had a good week guys! if u live near me then urll know its starting to get realt cold and wet! :( Im finally back at work now! and have been there most of my time and chilling at the weekend with friends. Well this weeks photo comes to you from Conisbrough Viaduct, a realy tall and massive bridge built.... dunno! lol but its oldish haha! The photo is of my friend Adam abseiling down. We met up with my good friend liam and craig and got to work! Its a very scary thing to do, and ill be honest i find it very scary but am getting used to it now! We make a big rope swing that we can attach are selfs to and just enjoy swinging about lol! Its alot of fun and we have some realy good laffs! 11/52 Magic man

HAY PPS! This weeks is a lil late! sowi... couldent make mind up what to do. Did a photoshoot with jay mya but havent got round to finishing video etc yet lol, so went with this! So as i said, this week hooked up with jay mya, and did a lil photoshoot for his album cover and promo, got lots to edit and wanted to present all that work with vid as a finished iteam. (so keep your eyes out for that!) Apart from that not been upto much, just chilling at home going out and hustleing drinks lol! So this weeks photo i wanted to put across my new magic skills! I have recently learned some pritty cool tricks, and use them when im out drinking to hustle drinks etc :P All tricks were inspired by dynomo, his magic is just outa this world! So for the photo i wanted to giv it that strange magic edge, so i went for a simple float in the air and placed some cards around! The setup was pritty easy i just layed on a table and edited it out later in photoshop! "Well have a great week guys!" 10/52 Cadwell Trackday
Well this weeks photo is a lil late (sorry) I have been a very busy person, had a lil weekend partying etc! :P


This weeks photo comes from Cadwell. I went on a motorbike trackday with my sisters partner colin and gary are other friend. I have been on o few of these trackdays, pics can b found on my site.
I personally dont race, i dont know how to ride a bike lol! They scare the hell outa me! ill stick to my cars for now ha ha ha! 
Colin is the person at the front on the black bike. Its hard to get photographs for me on these days as public dont have acess to the full track for photos. have to make do were we can get lol. It dosent help that i only have a 17 - 50 as my max focal length! (Realy need a new zoom!)
I got as close as i could and just croped in.


For days like this u need a very fast shutter speed, as the bikes are sometimes hitting 120mph+ and even more on the striaghts! 
I was expermenting with shutter speeds between 3000th down to 750th to get some motion blur using panning.
When not shooting the track i usually shoot the lads documentary style.

9/52 The Early A.M Photoshoot

9/52 The Early A.M Band shoot Well this weeks photo/photos are of a band i shot at the weekend called The Early A.M Hope you have all had a good week guys! This week i have been relaxing at home as my jaw is still hurting lol. But at the weekend i hooked up with an old friend from school Mathew. Mathew asked me to take some pics of him and his band The Early A.M. Week 8 Exploring new heights

8/52 Exploring new heights Well here is a lil cute one for ya this week guys! Well this weeks been busy for me in the photograph world! went to donnington race track and photographed my sister fella and his friends. orderd me some new BIG ASS SPECS LOL! This week i photographed some family. I did a shoot for my cousin Tania with here daughters. Did some studio type work and then took the kids to the park with there dad. They were so funny and realy realy good for the camera. "couldent stop posing lol" I was very very suprised at how well they coped with having to wait around and sit for a long time! kids normally get fed up fast, but these too lil ladys couldent get inuff :D This shot was taken of the youngest girl, on the seesaw. think it was here 1st time on one lol. She loved it and kept saying "higher higher!" Here face lit up a treat as she was shot up on it. I left some room at the top to giv off the feeling of going up. yes yes i could have got a lower angel but, her face wouldent have been the same! As it was her 1st time on one, and she realy liked going higher and higher, i named it "EXPLORING NEW HEIGHTS" I Realy enjoyed working with these too lil ladys this week and look fawards to giving the family the finished results! Well week 7 already! seems like only just started this project last week! ha haha

Well this week i have been busy busy! Been to get my eye cheacked out due to my attack 2 fridays ago! Gotta have new specs lol!
Also shot some people at doncaster horse racers, documeting there day. Will try put some pics up wen there done!

Well this weeks photo kinda reflects my mood, with all the stress of my attack and other problems.
i wanted to give off the vibe of slighty normal but u can tell somthing inside is not quite right.
I gave a sad little face, but wanted it to look like i was hiding some unhappness.

When processing i converted it to black and white as it always make a picture more dramatic! Not shure why i went for this crop?? maybe to refect the tight cramped up feeling.
I did it in my room on my bed as this is the place i normally shut my self off from all other things and think about stuff!

But we all get there in the end just keep your head up high. Hope this pic helps some people, or lets them know ther not the only one! We all hide are real emotions, and dont let others in! its are way of coping.
Somtimes others can help.. but threw it all we alone can only find the strength to get threw it all!

6/52 week project Best friend

Best friend!

Hi everyone, hope uve had a good week! Nothing much to report here, just been at home recovering from last weeks attack!

Well i know that dogs are mans best friend, This is alfie my lhasa apso dog!
He is a very funny character but very chilled and laid back. He is 2years old and has been with us since he was a pup!
On a night he sleeps in my room and eather try jump on my bed when im not looking!
He makes me laff a the little things he dos like sit were i want to sit and just look at me gormluss!
I take him every place i go as he is so well behaved. when im out taking pictures, he always sat at the side of my tripod.

He recently lost his best friend zack who was my other boxer dog who was 10 and sadly had to be put to sleep a few months ago :'(

For a while now alfie stuggled to b alone as he always had zack with him! Its true dogs do morn like humans. but hes copping very well now and plays with next doors dog oscar.

Its strange how pets mean so much to us, and become part of your family. Alfie is like a little brother to me.

5-52 week project!

5-52 Plan! So this week has been realy bad for me! I was attacked realy bad on fiday night, spent most of the time in hospital! got a 9cm gash on back of my head! Broken jaw and brushed n bashed to hell! Police have gotten infomed, and dealing with it! Justice will come to the ones who have done this! Revenge and justice is balance! In this photo i wanted to reflect the plan i think about to get justice! Somtimes i think we should take the law into our own hands! Mixed Doubts 3/52 week project

Week 3!

Well last week has been a strange fast one for me! gone buy so fast, what with work and things at home, its like i havent had a moment to spare.
But i have today and tmorrow off to get some things sorted. I sold my nikkor 18-105 lense as well this week, saving for a 70-200 2.8vr1 :D

So this pic kinda reflects my week, a lil crazy with things going on all over the place!
Ive had a lot of doubts this week about sertian things, what with work and my personal life! wanted to reflect this in my pic.
Hopefully this week will be better!!!

It took me a little while to edit and get all the stars right etc lol but i do love to just play around with this sort of stuff, as im still learning things in photoshop!

2/52 week project

Week 2/52
Exit from reality

"What is reality? am i back to the world we know? or am i in a differnt place?"

Well 2 down just 50 more to go lol :P

Well i have a crazy imagination and half the time im shure i spend it in my own little world, i drift in and out of reality mmost of the time!
I love the idea of being able to go to differnt dimentions and other strange worlds.

This picture was taken on a field near were i live. the sun was setting beautiful so i got my camera strobs and dog, and headed off up to this field!
I wanted to give the image of exiting reality, as though id just jumped threw a portal and the energy waves wer following.
I wore my mask to give it a more strange effect.
I first made slight changes to the pic in lightroom then made my final edits in photoshop elements 9.

52 week project start!

52 week project start!


So what is this project? well im very passionate about photography, and i wanted to challange my self a little more in photography! I will be taking a photo every week for 1year!
      I will be photographing things that mean a lot to me or tell a little story about me.. Also ill be photographing my journey for the next year, showing u places ive been things i like to do etc...
    Its going to be a personal project to me with a lot of meaning. it will also feature other things like photoshoots etc ive done.
      I was going to go with a 365 project but dont think ill keep up wid it!

  So this weekend i went to a volkswagen show in kilnurst just down the road from were i live. we went down sataday afternoon and came back sunday late morning! It was a very good show with lots of old classics ther.
    This photo is of my friend andys Mk2 vw golf. Its a car i realy like and may be buying in the future.
